PASTA WITH ORANGE SAUCE
Ingredients
2 Cups pasta (Ziti, Penne, Angel Hair, etc)
2 Cloves of garlic (chopped/minced finely)
2 Tbs olive oil
2 Oz. white wine
1 1/2 Cups of marinara sauce (plain or with mushrooms)
1/2-3/4 cup of heavy whipping cream
2 Tsp dry basil leaves (or fresh - make sure it is chopped)
2 Tsp Salt (for pasta) and 2 additional Tsp for sauce.
Parmesan Cheese (optional)
Directions:
In a small sauce pan, boil pasta. Mix occasionally to avoid it becoming one lumpy mess.
In a larger sauce pan, cook garlic cloves in olive oil until garlic is slightly golden brown on medium. Lower temperature to medium/low
Mix in marinara and white wine slowly, careful not to add too quickly or the liquids will jump and burn from the heat of the pan. Add basil
Add in the heavy whipping cream and salt to cream mixture. Stir mixture frequently to avoid sticking to pan/burning.
Add salt to pasta for flavor.
Let the sauce simmer while the pasta finishes cooking.
Remove pasta from stove and pour into a colander to remove from water.
Stir pasta into sauce and cook for about 2-3 more minutes.
Serve
